On the hat there is a white wolf paw and various colored streamers on top. They look like the Standard Wolf Ears, but with a red party hat added to the middle of the ears. The Birthday Ears can be found all year round.They are a tan-ish gray color with white inner ears on the front, and depict the Great Wolf Lodge logo on the backside of the right ear. They are found whenever Great Wolf Lodge doesn't have a special event going on. The Standard Wolf Ears are the most common type of Wolf Ears.They were introduced in 2010 originally as a promotional item given to guests who ate at one of the lodge's restaurants. Guests get as many Wolf Ears as the number of guests they booked for. They are made of a soft cotton exterior and a plastic interior for support. They are in essence a headband with wolf ears that guests can wear on their heads. They are the Lodge's signature item and come in many varieties. Maybe it is because it's a place where the whole family can have fun. Maybe it is because they actually have an Ambassador of Fun. Something's always happening at Great Wolf Lodge. Indoors, there are all the waterslides you could want, a lazy river, huge bucket dump, hot tubs, and more. In fair weather, the outdoor area has a great pool, a lovely waterfall, and a zero-entry kids area. AND, three fire-belly toads! Watch them eat (well, if you have a strong stomach).Īnd of course, the Waterparks. There is also sand art, painting, and all kinds of books and learning activities. We've done the tie-dying, the lotion creation. NO visit to Great Wolf Lodge is complete without playing Magiquest!Ĭub Club - all kinds of activities for kids - some free, and some that you can pay for. MagiQuest - an interactive treasure hunt game. If you come around December, you'll also see the beautiful Snow Land (and your kids can write a letter to Santa). Come in your glitziest - there will be family events (like a glow party!, karaoke room, Guitar Hero Room, bingo room, arts & crafts room, and more), as well as a family-friendly dance. Last year when we went, there were GWL employees in costume, handing out treats (including games) around the MagiQuest stations in the hallways.įor New Year's Eve, there will be another big bash, with an Old Hollywood Theme this year. The VERY cool Howl-o-ween events, including a Monster Mash and hallway decorations. There will be a pig roast, Hawaiian buffet, cherry pit spit, pie eating contest, tacky tourist relay race (with great prizes!), sand art, a DJ and tropical music, and more. Upcoming events at Great Wolf Lodge Traverse City include:Ī Labor Day Luau. What a fun way to get the kids excited about a visit (well, like they need any more help?!). ![]() Wiley and Violet (the GWL Mascots) are also out and about at GWL, and on the website - it's a new website that introduces kids to the characters of Great Wolf Lodge. There have also been scrapbooking classes, and other summer events. The Wolf Walk focuses on perspective and a different way of looking at things (and we also learned about different animals!). Lilliel went on the wolf walk, and learned so much - check out what she did with the tricks she learned, when we were at Lake Michigan one night! Other Facebook activities include contests, promotions, and deals. There is a morning wolf-walk, which teaches kids how to take trick pictures. I sat down and talked with one of my VERY favorite people at GWL Traverse City, Jenn Gillner - the Ambassador of Fun! Isn't that the BEST job? Jenn filled me in on many of the events going on this summer at Great Wolf Lodge, as well as some upcoming events. From little touches in the room design to the ever-attentive lifeguards, it all comes together to make the right vacation for families. One of the things I love most about Great Wolf Lodge is how family-friendly they are. Our daughter, Lillie, wrote about her experiences at both Great Wolf Lodge and the Scoops Beauty Salon.
